Actress Mahira Khan recently found herself in the middle of a debate after some users of the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, accused her of making a “diplomatic” statement during Israel’s offensive over Gaza. Mahira, who has been vocally advocating for Palestine on Twitter nonstop, responded politely and made it plain where she stands on the issue.
Mahira offered solidarity to people in need in a tweet on Friday, expressing her heartfelt sympathy for those who have lost loved ones, and homes, and who experience anguish constantly. She also exhibited compassion for individuals who might be ignorant of the suffering “around them.”
Prayers for those suffering.. those who have lost their children, their entire families, those who don’t have homes, those who are in pain every single second.. and especially for those who are ignorant and misinformed about the suffering around them. May the universe be kind to…

Many thought this was a very “diplomatic” statement from her and demanded she mention Palestine and Israel. A user questioned, “Praying for who?” “Diplomatic declaration. Another person said, “Political and unsaid about anyone who is at fault and who I’m suffering from. Who are you praying for? Name them and shame them; otherwise, there’s no need to tweet this at all, one user criticized.
Even worse, a troll implied Mahira’s “silence” was caused by uncertainty over potential Hollywood contracts. “Mahira cannot take a chance with her future deals with Holywood, guys, which is why she omitted Israel. Majboriya hota he. She gave a succinct but impactful reply, saying, “Uhhh, I call it loud and clear. Take a seat. Spend some of your time praying for Palestine. Her unapologetic reply demonstrated her commitment to raising her voice for the suffering in Gaza.
Uhhh I call it loud and clear. Sit down. 🙏🏼 use your time to pray for Palestine. https://t.co/1YVhNNxCKO

Mahira also retweeted a remark made by Fatima Bhutto over the unfortunate circumstances in Gaza, sharing her views. After being rescued from the wreckage of a destroyed house, a baby girl drenched in blood was seen battling to breathe in a heartbreaking video shared by Fatima Bhutto. She had also said, “I will be haunted by the pictures of these babies forever. These people are the victims of Israel’s genocide in Gaza as well as the demented support of the US, UK, and Europe for the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
