Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Sign Mutual Defense Pact: ‘One Front Against Any Aggressor’
On social media platform X, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman declared:
“KSA and Pakistan. One front against any aggressor. Always and forever.”
His statement came shortly after Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman signed a landmark Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement on Wednesday.
The pact makes it clear: any attack on one nation will be treated as an attack on both.
A joint statement from the Prime Minister’s Office called the deal a reflection of the two countries’ deep commitment to regional and global peace, while also strengthening defense cooperation and joint deterrence.
During the visit, the two leaders reviewed historic ties and discussed areas of mutual interest. Prime Minister Sharif thanked the Crown Prince for his warm welcome and hospitality.
In a symbolic show of friendship, Saudi F-15 fighter jets escorted the Pakistani premier’s plane as it entered Saudi airspace.
