India’s Cricket Tour of Bangladesh Postponed

India was supposed to visit Bangladesh next month (August 2025) to play six matches — three ODIs and three T20s — starting August 17 in Dhaka. However, the series has now been postponed to 2026.

Both cricket boards (India’s BCCI and Bangladesh’s BCB) said they agreed to delay the tour because of scheduling issues and other international commitments.

Bangladesh Cricket Board said that they now hope to host India in September 2026. The new match dates will be announced later.

Background: Political Tensions

Relations between India and Bangladesh have become tense after a big student protest last year in Dhaka, which removed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from power. She escaped by helicopter to India in August 2024.
