The Bureau of Statistics released a weekly inflation report according to which Inflation rises to 2.41% in one week.
According to the report of the Bureau of Statistics, inflation has increased by 2.41% in one week while the prices of 25 essential items have increased during this period.
The report stated that prices of 5 items declined in a week and prices of 21 items remained stable, during which the unit price of electricity increased by Rs 2.70 per unit.
Due to the rise in prices of vegetables, pulses, eggs, and chicken Consumer Price Index (CPI) has been increased, the bureau said in a statement.
Earlier, The Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) has said that; the inflation rate in January fell to 5.65% from 8% in the previous month.
The fall in prices of vegetables, pulses, eggs, and chicken; helped lower the Consumer Price Index (CPI), the bureau said in a statement.
The statement said that Urban CPI recorded a decline of 16% and Roll CPI recorded a decrease of 29%. It was 79 percent.
Inflation for the first time in the first month of the New Year came to the level where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government met in August 2018, after hitting a high of 14% early last year.
