Pakistan is ranked 101st out of 104 countries on the Henley Passport Index, a global passport assessment that highlights the challenges experienced by its holders. Only 34 out of 227 places allow entry without a visa for Pakistani nationals, according to this rating, which is based on assessment of visa requirements. Conversely, the nations with the strongest passports are France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and Singapore.
In contrast, Pakistan lags behind its neighbors in South Asia. India is ranked 80th, higher than Bangladesh (97th), Sri Lanka (96th), and Nepal (98th). This discrepancy demonstrates the different levels of international mobility that residents in the area are able to enjoy.
The limitations imposed on the Pakistani passport highlight possible obstacles for its people when it comes to foreign travel, business, and possibilities.
In order to overcome these constraints, diplomatic initiatives to improve international ties, better visa accords, and the encouragement of economic and cultural collaboration may be necessary. Stronger passports are associated with higher international participation, therefore the ranking highlights the role that diplomacy and international cooperation play in promoting greater citizen freedom of movement.
