PCB Announces New Women’s and Men’s Central Contracts for 2025-26

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled its latest central contracts for women’s cricket, with 20 players placed in the Gold category and 45 in the Silver category. These contracts will run from July 2025 to June 2026.

The list features six international players and 23 Under-19 emerging talents. Selection was carried out by members of the National Women’s Selection Committee, Asad Shafiq and Batool Fatima, who considered performance, skill, and potential. The PCB emphasized that strong performances in domestic tournaments could earn additional players contracts in the future.

In related news, the PCB recently announced updates to the men’s central contracts, expanding the list from 27 to 30 players and reshuffling top performers. Notably, star batter Babar Azam and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan have been moved from the now-abolished Category A to Category B.

Category B also includes Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Abrar Ahmed, Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, Saim Ayub, and Salman Ali Agha. Category C features Abdullah Shafique, Naseem Shah, Saud Shakeel, Faheem Ashraf, Sajid Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Haris, Sahibzada Farhan, Hasan Nawaz, and Noman Ali. Category D lists Shan Masood, Hussain Talat, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Wasim Jr., Abbas Afridi, Khushdil Shah, Ahmed Daniyal, Salman Mirza, Khurram Shehzad, and Sufiyan Muqeem.

This year, 12 players have been awarded central contracts for the first time, including Ahmed Daniyal, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Haris, Mohammad Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Mirza, and Sufiyan Muqeem.

The PCB said the restructuring aims to reward consistent performers while also providing opportunities for emerging talent, ensuring a balance between experience and youth in Pakistan cricket.
