This is the third installment in my poetic series. The previous two parts expounded the necessity of poetry in the 21st century. This time, I won’t be going into depth nor giving any kind of introduction. Hopefully, you’ll still understand.
I’ll be here
You don’t have to say anything
You don’t have to do anything
You don’t have to feel anything
You don’t have to be anything
I know you’re tired
I know you’re doubtful
I know you’re overthinking
I know you’re bruised
I can see you trying to smile
I can see you trying to fight
I can see you trying to hold on
I can see you trying to withstand
I’ll be here
I’m always here
Far or near
I’ll always be here
Like a purple sunset
Like two friends with no regrets
Like a lingering silhouette
Like an alarm clock that needs to be reset
Even if my arms are cold, I’ll hold you
Even if my arms are narrow, I’ll hold you
Even if my arms are wet, I’ll hold you
Even if my arms are tired, I’ll hold you
If you don’t want someone to hold, I’ll still be here
If you don’t want someone to talk to, I’ll still be here
If you don’t want to feel better, I’ll still be here
If you have given up on humanity, I’ll still be here
If you’re into poetry, then you might also wanna consider reading THIS.
Currently, I am a student of Fatima Jinnah Women University. With a burning passion for psychology, words, and dreams, I decided to abandon medical studies for humanities. These days, when I’m not listening to ballads, watching movies, or sitting down with a good novel, I am rigorously studying Hangul (Korean language) to satisfy my obsession for BTS and K dramas. I’m a thinking introvert and INFJ personality. Therefore, I like ‘me time’. My articles typically resonate with psychological well-being advice.
