PM Laptop Scheme 2025: Expanded Access, Faster Applications, and Wider Reach

Islamabad – The government has launched the latest phase of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme, introducing several upgrades aimed at making the process more transparent and accessible for students.

For the first time, students from technical and vocational institutes are eligible to apply, alongside those enrolled in public universities and colleges recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The distribution quota has also been increased to ensure more students benefit.

Upgraded Online Portal
The online application system has been revamped with faster processing, real-time status tracking, and online publication of merit lists. Applicants can now monitor their progress under four categories: Submitted, Under Review, Approved, or Rejected.

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, students must hold a valid CNIC or B-Form, maintain strong academic performance, and be enrolled in an HEC-recognized institution. Those who received a laptop in earlier phases will not be considered.

Distribution Timeline
Laptops will be distributed between September and December 2025. Selected students will receive notifications via SMS and email, making accurate contact information essential. Officials have advised applicants to carefully check their documents, stay updated through the portal, and coordinate with their university’s focal person to avoid delays or disqualification.

With its expanded scope and improved system, the PM Laptop Scheme 2025 aims to strengthen digital access for Pakistan’s youth, equipping them with the tools needed to excel academically and prepare for future careers.
