PM Shehbaz Signs Pakistan Saudi Defense Pact

PM Shehbaz Visits Saudi Arabia, Signs Key Defense Pact

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was warmly seen off at Riyadh Airport by Prince Muhammad bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Riyadh, as he arrived in Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman signed a Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The pact highlights the commitment of both nations to strengthen security, promote peace, and deepen defense cooperation in the region and beyond. It also establishes that any aggression against one country will be treated as an aggression against both.

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman, reaffirmed the strong bond between the two nations, calling Pakistan and Saudi Arabia “one united front against any aggressor.” On social media platform X, he stated:

“KSA and Pakistan. One front against any aggressor. Always and forever.”

This announcement follows the signing of the Strategic Mutual Defense Agreement, emphasizing the shared commitment to joint deterrence and regional stability.
