Former first lady Bushra Imran Khan’s sister, Maryam Riaz Wattoo, has stated that her sister is under house arrest in Bani Gala and that she fears for her life.
Bushra, the ex-prime minister Imran Khan’s wife, was put under house arrest at her husband’s estate in Islamabad following their conviction on charges of graft.
In a case involving allegations that the former prime minister undervalued gifts from a state repository and made money by selling them while in office, Khan and his spouse received a 14-year prison sentence.
Wattoo expressed her extreme worry for her sister’s safety to Geo News, saying, “Bushra has been treated badly by the jail authorities.”
She claimed that although Adiala, the jail superintendent, is in charge of ensuring Bushra’s safety, “evidence” indicates that the jail administration is not doing enough.
Bushra’s younger sister Wattoo, a Dubai-based educationist by trade, said that when her sister’s daughter finally got to meet her, it had been more than ten days. After that, Bushra’s stomach and throat were burned so badly that she hasn’t been able to eat anything for the past six days, has become very weak, and isn’t feeling well.
The policewoman who had fed her that day, she said, had been moved since.
According to Wattoo, the impact of the goodwill shown to her sister would be lessened because no doctor was summoned in time to check her.
Wattoo also expressed worries for her sister in a post on X.
“No doctor has been called in for consultation,” the woman stated. When Mrs. Bushra Imran Khan gave herself up for arrest, she was in excellent health. She is free of all illnesses, including diabetes and hypertension.

She fears that gradually becoming unwell and eventually having her death reported as a result of her illness and depression. Alhamdolillah, she conveyed that her faith is strong and that she is bearing this with the belief that it will result in true independence for our country.
“The family requests immediate authorization so that Mrs. Bushra Imran Khan can be examined by a physician they have selected. We should take her to a hospital of our choosing so that thorough examinations can be performed. Government-appointed physicians may also travel with you.
According to Wattoo, she is pleading with Pakistan’s legal system to pay attention to her sister’s situation. “I demand that Pakistan’s judiciary investigate our concerns and act swiftly.”
