Leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Sher Afzal Khan Marwat, informed the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday that masked individuals had raided his residence at two in the morning this past night.
This assertion was made by Supreme Court Advocate Marwat at the petition hearing pertaining to the IHC’s recovery of Baloch students.
The accusation was greeted with amazement by IHC Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, who noted that Marwat, an accomplished lawyer and elected member of parliament, was the subject of it. He said that Islamabad, not Lakki Marwat, was the subject of the PTI leader’s remarks.
The court questioned what would happen to an average citizen in Balochistan if an elected official in the nation’s capital received such treatment.
Marwat had earlier alleged in a tweet that the CTD police had stormed his home and damaged the doors.
They took away my laptop and caused stress to my family and employees. I’ve made it out of my house and am currently in a secure location. My laptop was illegally seized during this illegal raid, and I will legally fight the IG and SSP operation Islamabad for this criminal crime. It includes my personal and business information, which could be misused. The larger cause is the battle for true democracy in Pakistan, and these cowardly methods won’t make me back down from that purpose,” he wrote on X.
Islamabad Police refuted the claim on X, stating that they did not conduct a raid on Marwat’s residence. The police insisted that fake news was being disseminated in an effort to attract attention.

According to Justice Kayani, the inspector general of police ought to be fired if his actions are not corrected. He also questioned why the guy who was available during the daytime had his home raided at night.
The home secretary was instructed by the IHC to contact the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) and the Islamabad Inspector General (IG) to obtain a written statement from them on this matter.
All members of the system, including the judges, are aware of what is going on, but they remain silent about it. He added that it was dishonorable to treat an elected MNA and SC attorney in such a manner and asked who would defend residents against criminals and robbers if state institutions were to act in this manner.
