Prince William and Kate Pay Tribute to Jane Goodall Following the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Statement
The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a heartfelt tribute to the late Dame Jane Goodall, just hours after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex honored the renowned conservationist.
Taking to their joint Instagram account on Thursday, October 2, Prince William described her passing as the loss of “an extraordinary voice.”
“Her boundless curiosity, compassion, and pioneering spirit transformed our understanding of the natural world,” he wrote. “She challenged us all to make a difference and inspired me and countless others to work to protect our planet. Jane Goodall made a difference.” He signed off simply with his initials, “W.”
Earlier, Harry and Meghan also paid their respects to the legendary animal welfare advocate. In their statement, the couple reflected on her personal impact: “Her commitment to changing lives extends beyond what the world saw, and also to what we personally felt. She held our son, Archie, when he was first born, and showered love and care on those who were privileged to know her. She will be deeply missed.”
Dame Jane Goodall passed away peacefully in Los Angeles on Wednesday, October 1, at the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy that has inspired generations around the globe.
