The leaders have agreed over a middle path for the alliance’s chief after opinions from the JUI and other opposition parties, sources said.
Some leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have suggested, the chairman and president, two top offices for the opposition’s alliance. “They have proposed one from Mehmood Achakzai and Fazlur Rehman to make chairman and other as president,” sources said.
The proposal will be consulted with the PTI’s founder and other opposition parties, according to sources.
The grand opposition alliance has been expected to be finalized after Eid with approval from the PTI’s founder and other parties, sources shared.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman earlier said that the opposition parties will decide about the protest movement against the government after Eid.
He said the soreness in relations with the PTI goes down adding that “the PTI should take notice if someone of the party issuing statements against me”.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) have been engaged in discussions to reinforce the opposition, despite lingering differences.
The JUI had expressed concerns regarding PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
Although both parties have maintained contact in recent months, a breakthrough for a formal working relationship yet to be materialized.
