PTI Founder Top Leaders Summoned in Police Attack Case

Court Summons PTI Founder and Leaders in Police Attack Case

LAHORE – A local court in Lahore has summoned the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) through a jail warrant in a case involving an alleged attack on Islamabad police officers.

The case was filed against PTI leader Shibli Faraz and others. It is being heard at the Lahore Cantonment (Cantt) Katchehri. The next hearing is scheduled for July 30.

The FIR was registered at the Race Course Police Station in Lahore. It accuses several PTI leaders of being involved in the incident.

Earlier, an anti-terrorism court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for PTI leaders Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz about the May 9 riots. The case was filed at the Civil Lines Police Station in Faisalabad. Other PTI leaders named include Kanwal Shauzab and former federal minister Fawad Chaudhary.
