PTV Sports has decided to “discontinue” airing the Test Series between Australia and Pakistan

Pakistan maintains a run rate of above 4 against Austraila

The present second Test match between Australia and Pakistan is no longer being televised on PTV Sports, the sports station of Pakistan Television.

This choice is in line with the Information and Broadcasting Ministry’s guideline of “Zero tolerance for surrogate Companies,” which exhorts relevant parties to refrain from promoting their services while live sporting events are being covered.

Following government protocol, PTV Sports informed the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and other pertinent parties about the problem in addition to reporting it to the parent broadcaster. The channel wants to settle the dispute, take down the commercials for surrogate businesses, and start airing live Pakistan vs. Australia cricket series again in 2023–2024.

An “unambiguous violation” was noted in an earlier recommendation from the ministry during the live broadcast of the Pakistan cricket team’s visit of Australia.

Ministries, agencies, and organizations were advised by the guidance to abstain from entering into agreements or working with surrogate firms that operate unlawfully.

Media outlets received strong warnings not to support these businesses with advertisements and to quickly end any current partnerships.

The ministry called for quick compliance and an investigation into the grounds for non-compliance after observing the logos of two organizations specified in the warning displayed continuously during the live broadcast. Within a week, stakeholders were asked to provide a copy of their compliance.
