Punjab Government to Distribute 112,000 High-Performance Laptops to Students

Lahore – The Punjab government has announced the launch of the Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025, aiming to provide laptops to students enrolled in public sector universities, colleges, and medical institutions across the province.

Under the initiative, led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, a total of 112,000 high-performance laptops—including 13th-generation Core i7 models—will be distributed to meritorious students starting October 31, 2025.

Scheme Details:

Registration Portal Launch: June 2025

Application Deadline: September 30, 2025

Eligibility:

Students must be enrolled in a public sector university, college, or medical/dental institution in Punjab.

Minimum academic requirement: 65% for BS students, 80% for medical/dental students.

Applicants must not have received a laptop under previous schemes.

Application Process:
Students can apply online through the official portal by submitting their academic records and identification documents. The final recipients will be selected through a transparent, merit-based lottery system.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is scheduled to inaugurate the distribution ceremony on September 6, with laptops expected to reach students by the end of October.

The scheme is designed to:

Support less privileged students by improving access to technology.

Enhance opportunities for online learning, research, and virtual classes.

Motivate students to excel academically by linking achievement with tech-based rewards.

This phase of the program builds on previous successes, where 14,000 laptops were distributed in Lahore alone. The expanded initiative now covers students across Punjab, reflecting the government’s commitment to modernizing education and fostering innovation.

The Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025 aligns with global trends in digital education, equipping students with essential tools for a competitive, tech-driven future while promoting equal opportunities, critical thinking, and academic growth.
