Among the deceased was a man from Dunyapur, Lodhran, who was traveling to attend his father’s funeral. Terror Attack on Highway: Several Punjab-Bound Passengers Killed in Balochistan

The Balochistan administration handed over the bodies to Punjab authorities at the Bawata border. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Usman and Commandant Asad Chandia received them.

On directives from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the remains were transported to their respective hometowns. Special officers were appointed for coordination with the families.

This is not the first such attack targeting Punjab-based labourers in Balochistan. In March, four labourers from Sadiqabad — Zeeshan, Khalid, Dilawar Hussain, and Muhammad Amin — were shot dead by unidentified gunmen during iftar in the Mangochar area of Kalat district. The men had been working on a tube well drilling project for a local landowner.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the latest attack, while security has been tightened across the region.
