Suicide Blast in Quetta Injures FC Personnel, Terrorists Neutralized
Quetta – A suicide blast rocked the city near Jinnah Road, leaving two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel injured, officials confirmed. Security sources stated that the attackers, disguised in FC uniforms, were also neutralized during the incident.
Rescue teams quickly reached the site and cordoned off the area following the explosion. CCTV footage obtained by captured the powerful blast, showing several vehicles, motorcycles, and rickshaws engulfed in flames and debris. Thick clouds of smoke were seen rising from the site, highlighting the intensity of the explosion.
Authorities have declared an emergency in the city’s medical facilities to manage the situation.
This attack comes weeks after a blast on September 2 in Quetta’s Sariab area. The explosion targeted a vehicle belonging to former Balochistan Chief Minister and Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Akhtar Mengal. While Mengal remained unhurt, several BNP activists were wounded. According to police, the blast occurred in the parking area of Shahwani Stadium after a political gathering had concluded.
Police have confirmed that both incidents are under investigation, emphasizing the ongoing security challenges in the region.
