Rajab Butt's Shooting Claim Declared Fake by Lahore Police

Lahore, June 30, 2025 – YouTuber Rajab Butt reported that four men in a white Suzuki Cultus (with Karachi plates) came to his home in Lahore and fired two shots from a silencer-equipped pistol. He also said one shot killed his pet dog sitting outside.

Butt said he wasn’t home at the time — only his mother, sister, and a security guard were present. They called the police from the Chung police station, who arrived quickly and gathered CCTV footage and other evidence. An FIR was filed against “unknown” suspects.

But after the investigation, Lahore police concluded there was no proof of any gunfire at his home. There was no evidence from CCTV footage, no shell casings, no bullet damage, and neighbors did not report hearing shots.

The police noted that Butt had not shared his camera footage. They also found no white Cultus or Karachi-registered vehicle near the house.

Instead, it turned out that the housing society where Butt lives had a problem with stray dogs. One dog was shot and killed — likely by the society’s security — and Butt might have presented this as a shooting incident at his own home.

The police have now closed the shooting case, stating it was baseless and no one can be arrested for firing, because they believe nobody fired a gun.

This isn’t the first time Rajab Butt has been in trouble. In the past, he was arrested for keeping an unlicensed lion cub at home, and he faced a blasphemy-related issue for naming a perfume “295” (a reference to Pakistan’s blasphemy law.
