Barrister Saif Accuses Punjab Government of Corruption
Barrister Saif has said that the Punjab government cannot explain the serious financial problems found in the latest audit report.
He said that the silence from Punjab shows that corruption is happening under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
He claimed that the report proves large-scale corruption and that Maryam Nawaz is responsible for misusing Rs10 trillion of public money.
According to him, development projects in Punjab are not for helping people but are started to get bribes and commissions.
He said people are being given false hopes while huge amounts of money are being stolen.
Barrister Saif also said the audit only covers the first year, and even more serious problems might be found later.
Tensions Between Punjab and KP Governments
This statement comes at a time when the PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government and the PML-N government in Punjab are accusing each other of corruption and bad governance.
Earlier, Barrister Saif also criticized Maryam Nawaz for turning the Swat incident into a political issue instead of focusing on helping people.
Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, he said that the Punjab government is using natural disasters for political gain, which is wrong.
He shared that a committee has been made to investigate the Swat issue.
Talking about politics, he said that the issue of reserved seats does not threaten the PTI government in KP. “Our government is strong and working properly,” he said.
