Shehbaz Sharif Begins China Visit to Attend SCO Summit, Hold High-Level Talks
ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has embarked on an official visit to China, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, and Adviser on Foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi.
During the trip, the premier will take part in the 25th Meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of State in Tianjin and attend ceremonies in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in World War II.
Shehbaz Sharif is also scheduled to hold important meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang. Talks are expected to focus on strengthening Pakistan-China cooperation in multiple sectors, including trade, investment, and regional development.
The Prime Minister will also meet leading Chinese business figures and corporate executives to explore new avenues of economic partnership. He is set to address the Pakistan-China B2B Investment Conference in Beijing, highlighting opportunities for collaboration.
In a message on social media platform X, Shehbaz Sharif said he looked forward to his meetings with President Xi and other world leaders. He stressed the importance of deepening Pakistan’s strategic partnership with China and expanding ties with other regional countries.
“Our focus will be on enhancing regional cooperation, strengthening multilateralism, and advancing shared goals of peace and prosperity,” he said.
