Shehbaz Reaffirms Support for Qatar, Condemns Israeli Strike in Doha
DOHA – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned Israel’s strike on a residential area in Doha, terming it a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and international law.
The premier made these remarks during his meeting with Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit in Doha. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and injuries caused by the attack, while reaffirming Pakistan’s full solidarity with Qatar at this critical moment.
Shehbaz Sharif underlined that the historic and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar would only grow stronger in the days ahead. The Emir of Qatar, meanwhile, appreciated the Prime Minister’s participation in the summit and his visit to Doha on September 12 to express solidarity during this difficult time.
Both leaders agreed to remain in close contact, given the rapidly evolving situation in the region.
Earlier at the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit, Prime Minister Shehbaz called for the establishment of an Arab–Islamic task force to counter Israel’s expansionist designs. He urged the international community to hold Israel accountable for war crimes and reiterated the OIC’s demand for suspending Israel’s UN membership. He also stressed that member states should consider other concrete measures against Israel.
