Veteran actor Javed Sheikh has discussed his relationship with Salma Agha and the effectI would have made that movie and moved on from Salma Agha if I was avaricious that her choices have had on his profession. The actor talked about how his marriage has caused him to take a lot of hits in terms of assignments when speaking with Metro Live TV.
“I was divorced when I married Salma Agha; it only lasted for three years,” stated Sheikh. “That, too, is a long story. I will have that episode recorded some other time,” he stated. He talked quickly, skipping over the battle scenes, and mentioned how Kabir Bedi took his place as the main character opposite Rekha in Khoon Bhari Maang.
“I was in India doing Khoon Bhari Maang,” the actor revealed. I was chosen to be a hero. The hero was Rekha. I was stopped violently, just like Izhar Qazi replaced me in Bangkok Kay Chor. After forcibly stopping and removing me, Kabir Bedi intervened. He went on, “I wasn’t avaricious. If I was avaricious, I would have made that movie and moved on from Salma Agha. However, I had no greed and never entertained the idea.”
The actor continued to lament, recalling, “I was married to Salma Agha and she usually asked me to go along with her when she went to India.” Sometimes I would be in Delhi, sometimes in Madras, with her. Sheikh mentioned how the unit would be waiting for him in Bangkok with his arrival arranged for a movie like Bangkok Kay Chor. But he would not be permitted to leave when he would declare he had to. He threatened to be fired, and Salma was heard to refer to Pakistani movies as “bakwas.” He said, “She forced me to leave the movie.” He recalled other project-related setbacks and acknowledged that his tumultuous relationship had taken a significant toll on him.
The interview highlighted the sacrifices Sheikh made in his career because of personal circumstances and provided a unique look into the challenges he encountered behind the scenes. Sheikh is one of the most well-known personalities in Pakistani entertainment, and in spite of all the obstacles, he has also had a significant impact in Indian cinema.
