With the covid vaccine being now available for use, many states have decided on its purchase so as to ease and facilitate their citizens and protect them from the virus. currently, Pakistan also decided to provide its citizens with access to the COVID-19 vaccine. after initializing the vaccine run u on medical professionals that state is now providing the patients and citizens of the virus with the vaccine.
Amidst the rise of the accessibility of the COVID vaccines, under the guidance of the Sindh Health Department, Sindh has decided to play its role in providing ease to the patients of its province and around by agreeing and deciding to purchase 20 million doses of the vaccine from China.
Sindh Health Minister Azra Pechuho pledged to sign a contract with China. This was for obtaining the vaccines on the 8th of February 2021. Urging the Chinese diplomat Consul Li Bijian, she inquired to look into the health issues being faced in Sindh. This is to understand what was required regarding medicine and health technology in the province. Dr. Pechuho asked the delegate to join hands in establishing and constructing a health network for facilities in Sindh.
Agreement between Sindh Government and China regarding COVID vaccine
“It was agreed that the Sindh government will buy 20 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine from China and that doctors and paramedical staff will be sent there for training in traditional Chinese medicine,” said a health department spokesperson.
the meeting concluded with both parties agreeing to train Pakistani medical staff together in this critical state of the pandemic. there was also an agreement between the two parties to teach Pakistan medical officials the art of traditional Chinese medicine as well.
