Shah Rukh Khan Wins First National Award for ‘Jawan’

MUMBAI – After over 30 years in Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan has finally won his first National Film Award for Best Actor. He received this honour for his powerful performance in the blockbuster film Jawan, directed by Atlee.

In a video message, Khan thanked the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for the award. He was seen wearing a cast on his right arm and said, “This is a moment I will never forget. I feel proud, thankful, and very humble.”

He added, “A National Award is not just an achievement — it shows that my work matters. It reminds me that acting is a responsibility. I must keep working hard and keep giving my best to the cinema.”

This year, actors Rani Mukerji and Vikrant Massey also won Best Actor awards. Rani was honoured for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, and Vikrant for 12th Fail.

12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, also won Best Hindi Film of the year.

Meanwhile, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, directed by Karan Johar, received the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
