“Arshad Khan, the ‘Chaiwala’ sensation known for his striking blue eyes, made a recent appearance as a guest on the Startup Pakistan Podcast. In the podcast’s sixteenth episode, titled ‘From Tea Seller to Thriving Entrepreneur,’ the host engaged in a conversation with Arshad, delving into his life journey, meteoric rise to fame, the overwhelming media attention and entertainment job offers triggered by his viral internet fame, and his evolution into a successful business owner.
In the engaging 42-minute episode, Arshad recounted the remarkable story of how a single photograph taken while he was making tea at a roadside stall catapulted him to international recognition. He shared his initial bewilderment and disbelief as media representatives rushed to interview him after his image was widely shared on social media.
After a brief stint in the entertainment industry as a model and performer, Arshad decided that a career in media and entertainment was not his calling. Instead, he decided to harness his fame and entrepreneurial spirit by launching his own café. Arshad explained that his primary motivation for establishing his café in Islamabad was to create job opportunities and empower individuals to support their households.
He said, “Opening one café would have sufficed, but I established an entire brand because I wanted numerous households to benefit from my cafes, not just my own.” Arshad’s vision extended beyond monetary gains; he aimed to provide income and livelihoods for 25-30 people, recognizing the scarcity of job opportunities in Pakistan.
In June 2023, Arshad Khan’s Café Chaiwala expanded internationally with the opening of its first branch in East London’s Ilford Lane, marking a significant milestone. Locally, Café Chaiwala has established its presence in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, and Swat.”
