Sunjay Kapur’s Children File Lawsuit Alleging Stepmother Forged Will
New Delhi: Sunjay Kapur’s children from his second marriage to actor Karisma Kapoor, 20-year-old Samaira and 14-year-old Kiaan, have approached the Delhi High Court with a civil lawsuit accusing their stepmother, Priya Sachdev, of forging their late father’s will to gain control of his assets, reportedly worth around INR 30,000 crores.
According to reports, the children, represented legally by their mother as their guardian, claim that Sachdev, who was married to Kapur from 2017 until his death in June, initially asserted that there was no will and that all assets were held under the R.K. Family Trust. The lawsuit alleges that Sachdev later produced a document that the children believe to be fabricated.
The complaint highlights that while a list of Kapur’s known properties was provided, the children remain unaware of the full scope of the estate. They claim Sachdev has withheld critical information, restricting their access to trust documents and financial records.
Additionally, the lawsuit states that after Kapur’s passing, the children were summoned to corporate meetings and pressured to sign documents without full clarity on the matters at hand.
The legal action seeks a partition of the estate, a detailed account of assets, and a permanent injunction against Sachdev, her minor son, and Kapur’s mother.
Sunjay Kapur, who was married to Karisma Kapoor for 11 years, passed away earlier this year in Windsor, UK.
