The victorious Pakistan Deaf cricket team and Punjab’s chief minister, Maryam Nawaz, recently met at the Chief Minister House in Lahore. The group had recently triumphed in the T20 World Cup following an incredible 19 years of supremacy.
Maryam Nawaz made the decision to raise the prize money for deaf cricket players from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh at the meeting. In addition, she expressed her gratitude to the players by giving them a cheque for Rs 38 lakh.
In addition, the Punjabi Chief Minister ordered the prompt provision of a cricket field for the deaf players and gave instructions on how to assist them in obtaining employment in government agencies. Maryam Nawaz congratulated the cricket players on their outstanding accomplishment and emphasized that their effort is priceless and cannot be entirely reimbursed.
During the occasion, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was also given the Dubai World Cup trophy by the Pakistan Deaf cricket team. They defeated Sri Lanka in the T20 World Cup last month to win it all.
