Following Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp’s declaration in January that this will be his final season with the team, word broke on Friday that he will be replaced by a Dutch football manager.
According to ESPN, Arne Slot, the manager of a Dutch football team, will take over as Liverpool’s coach in the upcoming season, replacing Jurgen Klopp.
At a press conference on Friday, Slot declared, “I can confirm that I will become the trainer there next year.”
Slot stated: “Until now I was not thinking about this being the build-up to my last match, but that starts coming now.”
“At the beginning of the week you are thinking about training and those kind of things,” the 45-year-old said. However, the sensation is now stronger. I’m running a little behind schedule for the press conference because I wanted to give certain folks a personal farewell and spend some time with them rather than just shaking hands.”
The coach of Feyenoord said to the press, “So yeah, the feeling grows.” I know that positive outcomes are helpful, but it’s still pleasant to know that others genuinely find my departure to be regrettable. Although you can express it verbally, if someone genuinely believes that, you can sense it. That is very meaningful to me.
Last year, Slot joined the Dutch club and stayed for three years. Although the publication stated that The Devils and the Rotterdam-based team had agreed a $11.8 million compensation agreement, Liverpool has not yet confirmed his appointment.
