According to The Verge, OpenAI, the startup that created the well-known artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots, will be revealing “Spring Updates” to ChatGPT and ChatGPT-4 models in a live webcast on Monday.
The webcast is scheduled for the day before Google’s I/O conference, where the tech giant will also be showcasing its AI capabilities, such as the Gemini chatbot and Search Generative Experience. AI is anticipated to play a major role in this conference.
Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, has refuted recent rumors that the company may introduce a search tool to rival Google and startup Perplexity.
Altman, 39, stated in a post on X: “We’ve been working hard on some new stuff we hope people will appreciate! It’s not a search engine, and it’s not gpt-5. seems magical to me. Monday at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time.”
Since ChatGPT’s launch in November 2022, generative AI technology has become widely used, and rivals including Adobe, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Perplexity have introduced their own models.
The most recent model from OpenAI, GPT-4 Turbo, was unveiled half a year ago and has the ability to comprehend and produce longer text segments.
The Verge claims that while GPT-3.5, which uses 175 billion parameters but has a narrower context window, is free, the model, which utilizes one trillion parameters, is available via ChatGPT Plus subscription for $20 per month.
The internet startup’s website will host the broadcast on Monday.
