Written and directed by Joe Carnahan, the action thriller takes inspiration from true events.

Apart from longtime collaborators Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, ‘The Rip’ also stars Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Scott Adkins, and Kyle Chandler.

The ‘Rip’ trailer opens with a team raiding a house where they discover millions of dollars in cash.

“You should just take whatever money you want and walk away before this goes really bad for all of us,” Calle warns Affleck over the phone.

Later in the trailer, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are seen in disagreement over the raid and their following plans after the discovery of the cash.

Damon asks about the seized money, “Do you think I’m gonna jack this rip?” leading Affleck to reply, “I don’t trust you right now, and that’s a f–king problem.”

The official logline for ‘The Rip’ reads, “Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question — including who they can rely on.”

Netflix is set to stream the film on January 16, 2026.

Ben Affleck, Matt Damon are among the producers for the film, which Carnahan directed from his own script.
