The third shipment of humanitarian goods from Pakistan to Gaza reaches Egypt

Humanitarian goods from Pakistan to Gaza reaches Egypt

Tuesday saw the arrival of a special Pakistani military aircraft at El-Arish International Airport in Egypt, carrying twenty tons of vital medical and humanitarian supplies for the Gaza population.

The aid was turned over to the Egyptian Red Crescent Society, which would forward it to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in Gaza. This was made possible by representatives of the Pakistani Embassy in Egypt.

Pakistan is still committed to giving Gaza’s brotherly people much-needed help, and this project is part of that commitment.

With this most recent delivery, Pakistan has now sent the people of Gaza more than 200 tonnes of humanitarian and medical aid.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani described the consignment as a show of solidarity with the Palestinian brothers and sisters on the first morning of the new year during his remarks at the send-off ceremony.

The foreign minister emphasized the need for a ceasefire and an unhindered supply of humanitarian aid to the people of occupied Gaza who are subject to vicious Israeli aggression, while reiterating Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people in their justifiable and heroic struggle for their right to self-determination.

During the ceremony, the Palestinian ambassador expressed gratitude to the Pakistani government and people for their ongoing support, particularly for the noteworthy New Year’s Eve gesture of showing solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Since October 7, Israel has been conducting a ceaseless attack against Gaza on the orders of Hamas, following an extraordinary operation in which Israel claims 1,200 casualties.

There are still many months left in the Gaza war, according to Israel, which has left most of the region in ruins, killed at least 22,000 Palestinians, and left its 2.3 million residents facing starvation.

Last month, the Foreign Office (FO) sharply denounced Israel’s violence against innocent Palestinians and conveyed its deep concern over the horrors occurring in the besieged Palestinian enclave of Gaza.

The FO called the current situation a “tragedy of epic proportions” and asked Israel to fulfill its responsibilities under the 4th Geneva Convention and stop its deadly activities in Gaza.

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has also been urged by the FO to carry out its duty of preserving peace. It expressly calls for the immediate easing of the siege, an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, and the prompt start of unhindered humanitarian assistance
