Toyota and Pokémon have collaborated to introduce a unique prototype motorcycle inspired by the legendary Pokémon, Miraidon, in Japan.
This collaboration dubbed the ‘Toyota Miraidon Project’, has brought forth a special exhibition at Midtown Hibiya in Tokyo, running from March 15 to 17. Supported by the Toyota Engineering Society and The Pokémon Company, the exhibition seeks to merge the imaginative world of childhood with the precision of manufacturing.
At the event, attendees have the opportunity to witness the ‘Toyota Engineering Society Miraidon’, a life-sized representation meticulously crafted to resemble the legendary Pokémon.
Miraidon, originally introduced in the ‘Pokémon Violet’ game released in 2022, plays a significant role as the protagonist’s faithful companion. In the game, Miraidon possesses the ability to transform into a sleek two-wheeled motorcycle, enabling swift travel. The design of the prototype bike closely mirrors the appearance of Miraidon from the game, complete with LED lights illuminating its eyes, contributing to its futuristic aesthetic.
Although specific details regarding the production process of the motorcycle have not been disclosed, a video released by the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube channel offers glimpses into the intricate steps involved.
This includes Toyota engineers planning the initial design, utilizing 3D printing technology for certain components, and meticulously applying finishing touches to bring the concept to life. The collaboration between Toyota and Pokémon exemplifies the fusion of creative imagination with technical expertise, resulting in the creation of an innovative and visually striking prototype motorcycle that captures the essence of the legendary Pokémon Miraidon.
