Enjoy Listening and Talking? Try 7 cups of Tea!

Is Blowing Off Steam Important?

De-stressing has now become an integral part of our mental health routine. We all need to unwind at the end of the day. Some of us like to relax with a hot cup of tea and watch our favorite show. Others prefer talking to friends and sharing details about our day. Also, some just SLEEP. All these are great ways to detox your hectic mind. But, what happens when you just need to rant and blow off some steam? Or just need to be listening to someone else? There is another way. Incoming 7 cups—a website that offers free online counseling and emotional support.

Let the Talking/Listening Begin

Even though we live in the 21st century, our society is still plagued with the same deadly taboos. Mental health has become a trending topic on all social media websites but is yet to be seen taken seriously in ‘real life’. Tell someone what’s bothering you and they tell you to relax. Or better yet, they spit out the same insulting line that I’ve heard many times: Who told you that life is fair? Well, no more. Firstly, acknowledge that you deserve better than just a pseudo-reassuring line that everything is going to be fine. Second, open up that browser and search for 7 cups. Third, make an account. Finally, let the magic and healing begin!

Perks of the Website

It’s extremely easy to navigate. The site is well-organized so you find everything you need in a jiffy. The site prohibits giving out personal information so you don’t have to worry about the intrusion of privacy. Another perk is that you don’t have to keep timings nor do it every day. You can log in whenever you want and log off at any time. The site provides the highest amount of convenience possible. For those who need more than just listeners and actual therapy, some free qualified counselors and psychologists make appointments.

Furthermore, you can opt for two alternatives—become a member or a listener. As a member, you get access to compassionate listeners and support groups. They listen well and confidentially. Both members and listeners use code-names when interacting. Or, if you want to be a listener, you’ll have to complete a short training course. After that’s done, you can accept chat requests and hear out people. You don’t have to give advice or anything—listening and tell them that their problems are genuine is more than enough. Most of the time, we just need someone who will hear us out. I mean, let’s be honest, talking to the walls only helps to some extent. Beyond that point, we need a living, breathing, and thinking being who give feedback.

My Personal Listening Experience

I signed on as a listener back in 2018 after a friend of mine recommended it to me. She’s been listener for two years and said it helped her. I’m more of a listener than a talker. So, I joined the community to see if I could help spread positivity and give emotional support to others. I learned a lot. The foremost thing was to be grateful and help others as much as possible. I guess listening to others speak about their inner turmoil helped me to better observe people. It helped me to grow as a person; to become a more compassionate and non-judgmental human being. Therefore, if you want someone to listen to you or if you wanna hear others out, I recommend you give this site a try. It might just change your life.
