Three TTP Terrorists Killed in CTD Operation in Karachi

KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed three terrorists from the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) during an intelligence-based operation in Karachi.

According to DSP Raja Umar Khattab, the raid was carried out after receiving reports that TTP members were hiding in a house. During the operation, the terrorists opened fire on the police, which led to a gun battle. All three terrorists were killed.

Two of them have been identified as Zafran and Qudratullah. Zafran was a high-profile terrorist with a Rs20 million reward on his head. The third terrorist is yet to be identified. One of the men killed was also a suicide bomber.

DSP Khattab said this group was behind an attack on Chinese nationals in Pakistan last year.

The CTD recovered important weapons from the hideout, including three grenades, a Kalashnikov, suicide jackets, and a diary listing future targets. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital.

Authorities are now investigating who owns the house where the terrorists were hiding.

In last year’s attack near Karachi, three people were killed and 17 were injured when a bomb exploded. The blast also damaged 15 vehicles. The Bomb Disposal Squad confirmed that 70–80 kg of explosives were used, hidden inside a vehicle.

All evidence from that blast has been handed over to the police.
