Seven Jewish Sites Targeted in Recent Spate of Attacks
London – Police have reported a series of attacks on Jewish premises over the past ten days, including four synagogues that were smeared with a substance and a school, and a car that was targeted with a liquid.
Sky News confirmed that the substances involved were bodily fluids. Authorities described the incidents as “revolting and appalling.”
Experts have warned that antisemitism in the UK has surged since the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel and the ensuing conflict in Gaza. In fact, 2024 was recorded as the country’s second-worst year for antisemitism, with more than 3,500 incidents reported, according to the Jewish security advisory body.
Police have charged Ionut-Cristian Bold, who has no fixed address, with six counts of racially or religiously aggravated criminal damage, three counts of property damage, and other offences. He is set to appear at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Monday, where he will enter his plea.
Superintendent Zubin Writer said, “We will always treat allegations of this nature extremely seriously, and these charges follow an investigation by a team of local officers.”
