Farooq Qaiser the man behind ‘Uncle Sargam’ passed away in Islamabad on Friday due to a cardiac arrest.
He was suffering from heart ailment from quite some time; and was rushed to the hospital after the attack but couldn’t make it to life confirmed his family.
Uncle Sargam was an iconic name for the children of 80’s & 90’s; which Farooq Qaiser conducted in his puppet show called Kaliyan. His duo with another character on the show, Maasi Museebatay, achieved legendary status over the years.
About Farooq Qaiser
Farooq Qaiser born on October 25, 1935 was a columnist, television artist, TV show director, puppeteer, script writer, and voice actor. He also wrote some comic books but was well known for his fictional puppet character Uncle Sargam. He was honored with the Presidential Pride of Performance for his service to art in 1993.
