US Issues Security Alert for Karachi Hotels
KARACHI – The U.S. Consulate General in Karachi has warned American citizens to stay away from crowded places and avoid unnecessary travel in the city.
In a new security alert, the Consulate said it received a threat report about high-end hotels in Karachi. Because of this, U.S. government staff are not allowed to visit these hotels for now.
The alert also mentioned that, during such threats, U.S. officials are often told to avoid places like hotels, malls, markets, restaurants, and tourist areas.
The Consulate advised U.S. citizens to stay safe by:
Avoiding crowds
Keeping a low profile
Staying alert, especially in places where foreigners usually go
It also reminded citizens to be aware of their surroundings at all times.
