US Defends Trump’s Role in India-Pakistan Peace Efforts

At a press meeting, a US spokesperson, Tammy Bruce, was asked about India’s claims that former President Donald Trump did not help stop a fight between India and Pakistan.

Tammy Bruce, who speaks for the US State Department, said that top US leaders, like Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President J.D. Vance, did work hard to calm things down between the two countries.

She made it clear that the US played an important role in stopping a conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, Pakistan and India.

Bruce also said that while people are free to have opinions, some stories about what happened are not true. She said the facts are clear to everyone.

She added that Trump has always been open about his work, and that the world knows he worked for peace.

Earlier, Trump said he should get the Nobel Peace Prize for helping India and Pakistan agree to a ceasefire.

Speaking to reporters in New Jersey, Trump said he should also get the prize for helping bring peace in places like Rwanda, Congo, Serbia, and Kosovo.

He said, “The big one is India and Pakistan — I should have gotten it four or five times.” He also claimed the Nobel Prize is usually given only to liberals, not to people like him.
