Were you aware? Kajol turned down Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dil Toh Pagal Hai”

Kajol turned down Shah Rukh Khan's "Dil Toh Pagal Hai"

Many of the 90s were revived in a recent episode of Koffee With Karan, the controversial chat show hosted by Karan Johar. The most recent visitors to grace the prized couch were none other than Kajol and Rani Mukerji, the actresses of Karan’s 1998 hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

In the previously stated episode, Rani and Kajol disclosed the movies they had turned down, delving into their personal and professional lives. Many people are unaware that Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan, who became well-known together in the 1995 hit film Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, were originally slated to appear in another well-known movie before KKHH.

Unexpectedly, Kajol revealed that she had turned down Shah Rukh’s 1997 romantic comedy Dil Toh Pagal Hai. The Lust Stories 2 star continued by saying that she had turned down Mohra and 3 Idiots as well. In response, Rani said she regretted turning down the chance to see Aamir Khan’s critically acclaimed movie Lagaan.

Then, before he decided on the latter for the character of Tina in KKHH, Karan disclosed that eight other divas had already declined the role of Rani. The funniest thing that happened, according to the director, was when he was narrating Rani the movie and eight females had turned him down. He remarked, “Mujhe yeh short skirt pehenke karna padega Tina ka role.” After the narration, she (Rani) said can you come to my room. I had never been invited to a girl’s room.”

“I don’t know if I would love to be a part of it, but I would love to be a fly on the wall on the first part of Golmaal,” she said in response to a question about which movie her husband, Ajay Devgn’s Kajol, would have preferred to star in. I would adore witnessing the exchange in the initial segment. They were great in that movie, and I’m sure there were a ton of outtakes that I would have wanted to see, but I believe the first Golmaal was where the whole comedy started
