Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Set to Launch Just Two Weeks After Main Game Release

When Battlefield 2042 launched, it nearly derailed the series. Fans were frustrated by gameplay changes they hadn’t asked for, and despite some interesting ideas—like increasing the player count—most of the game simply didn’t work. In response, EA overhauled the Battlefield team, bringing in Vince Zampella, the creator of Call of Duty and Titanfall, and added several studios to work on what would become Battlefield 6.

Now, Battlefield 6 looks poised for a strong comeback. The game promises a full package: a story campaign, traditional multiplayer, a battle royale mode, and the innovative Portal system for custom maps and game modes. EA is clearly aiming to attract every kind of player, though details about the battle royale have remained scarce—until recently.

Last week, Battlefield 6’s battle royale received its first official details ahead of a closed playtest. Some leaked footage also surfaced online, giving fans a first look at how the mode might differentiate itself from competitors. However, the developers didn’t confirm when players could jump in—until now.

A new leak from ModernWarzone, a trusted source for shooter news, claims the Battlefield 6 battle royale will launch on October 28, just two weeks after the main game releases.

It’s still unclear whether the battle royale will be free-to-play or require the full game. Many believe a free model is crucial for success, noting that top battle royales like Fortnite and Apex Legends grew massive player bases by being free, while monetization came through skins and add-ons.

Interestingly, Battlefield 6 has already confirmed it will steer clear of unrealistic cosmetics, which could limit spending compared to free-to-play rivals.

If the leak proves accurate, fans won’t have long to wait before diving into Battlefield 6’s new battle royale. With high expectations and a strong focus on content, this mode could play a major role in restoring the franchise’s reputation.
