Tragedy in Bhittaiabad: Three Women Killed, Two Injured in Brutal Family Attack
Karachi, Pakistan – A shocking act of violence in Bhittaiabad has left the city reeling after three women were killed and two others critically injured in what authorities are calling a gruesome family attack.
According to a complaint filed by Shan, a college employee from Gulshan-e-Iqbal, the attack took place inside his home, where he lived with his wife and children. Shan said he was at work when his younger sister called to inform him that his niece, Nandini Lal, had been attacked.
Upon arriving at the house, Shan found a horrifying scene: blood smeared across the rooms and his wife, Meena, along with his sisters Aashi and Tania, lying dead. Nandini and a neighbor, Priya, were severely injured and were immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Nandini later told police that her maternal uncle, Ajay, had attacked her with a knife. She alleged that he killed three women in the family and tried to slit her throat before being subdued. Police confirmed that Ajay also attempted to harm himself and was taken into custody while wounded.
Karachi police have launched a full investigation into the tragedy, which has sent shockwaves through the Bhittaiabad community. A heavy police presence and the crime scene unit arrived at the scene to gather evidence and begin probing the incident.
While the motive behind the killings is still unclear, Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has taken notice of the case and requested a detailed report from SSP Malir. He instructed authorities to ensure a transparent investigation, uncover the motive, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
This incident comes amid a series of violent attacks linked to family disputes over freewill marriages. Earlier this year, a man in Pakpatan, Punjab, shot dead his niece and daughter-in-law at a court hearing over a similar issue.
The Bhittaiabad attack has left residents in shock and highlighted ongoing concerns over family-related violence in the region.
