Allen Hits 200 TDs as Bills Beat Dolphins

Bills Hold Off Dolphins to Stay Undefeated, Allen Hits 200th Career TD Pass

BUFFALO — Josh Allen threw for 213 yards and hit Khalil Shakir for his 200th regular-season touchdown pass, leading the Buffalo Bills to a hard-fought 24-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Dalvin Cook continued his scoring streak, rushing for a touchdown in a seventh straight game, tying a franchise record that stretches back to last season.

The game’s turning point came late when Terrel Bernard intercepted Tua Tagovailoa, ending Miami’s chance for a comeback and helping Buffalo improve to 3-0 on the season. The Bills have now won 13 of the last 14 regular-season meetings against the Dolphins.

Tagovailoa finished 22-of-34 for 146 yards and two touchdowns but could not avoid a third straight loss, leaving Miami at 0-3 for the first time since 2019.

Cook’s 2-yard touchdown run on the opening drive of the second half gave Buffalo a 21-14 lead. The Bills dominated early, yet Miami responded with consecutive punts before Tyreek Hill tied the game with a 5-yard touchdown catch with 12:18 remaining.

A potential momentum swing for Miami was erased when Zach Sieler was penalized for roughing the punter, giving the Bills a fresh set of downs. Shakir took full advantage, racing 15 yards down the sideline for the go-ahead score with 7:17 left in the fourth quarter.

Miami managed to reach Buffalo’s 21-yard line late, but a risky throw from Tagovailoa to Jaylen Waddle was picked off by Bernard with three minutes remaining. The Bills then ran out the clock before Matt Prater added a 48-yard field goal in the final seconds to seal the win.

The Dolphins had opened the scoring with a 54-yard kickoff return by D’Wayne Eskridge, which set up rookie Ollie Gordon II’s first NFL touchdown, a 2-yard run. But Buffalo quickly responded on its first series as tight end Dalton Kincaid hauled in a leaping catch and powered in a 20-yard touchdown to even the game.

Miami’s next two possessions ended in three-and-outs, keeping the Bills from extending their lead. Buffalo’s 10-play drive resulted in a 5-yard touchdown shovel pass to rookie tight end Jackson Hawes, marking his first career score. However, a third-down sack on the Bills’ next possession and a missed 39-yard field goal by Prater kept the game close.

Tagovailoa led a 16-play, 71-yard drive before halftime, with Hill making key third-down catches. Waddle finished the drive with a 3-yard touchdown catch with just eight seconds left, sending the teams into the break tied 14-14.
