BISP Program Empowering Millions Across Pakistan, Says Rubina Khalid
ISLAMABAD – Addressing a press conference in Islamabad today, Senator Rubina Khalid praised the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) for its transparency, digital operations, and global recognition for credibility.
She emphasized that BISP runs with remarkable efficiency, with administrative costs accounting for only one percent of its total budget.
Highlighting the program’s nationwide impact, Khalid said that around ten million families across Pakistan are currently benefiting from this flagship initiative.
The senator also noted BISP’s contributions to education, revealing that more than 17 million children are enrolled under the program’s Kafalat scheme, with 216 billion rupees invested in child education so far.

Through these efforts, we are not just providing financial support, but also empowering the future generation,” she remarked.
Khalid further highlighted that 3.6 million women are benefiting from the Benazir Nashonuma Programme, aimed at improving maternal and child health. She cited a recent study showing a 20 percent reduction in growth stunting among six-month-old children, underlining the positive impact of the government’s initiatives.
“The BISP is more than just a welfare program,” Khalid said. “It is a commitment to eradicate poverty, empower mothers, and build a skilled, healthy, and educated population for Pakistan.”
