Human trafficking group busted: girl apprehended in AJK

Following the arrest of a foreign female in Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, a troubling case involving a person who entered Pakistan under false pretenses, married local girls, and then sold them overseas, has come to light.

The family of one victim who fell victim to this fraudulent scam submitted an application, which resulted to the arrest.

It was discovered during the inquiry that the accused, Nargis, would pose as a boy in order to build relationships with girls. Nargis would take the newlyweds overseas and sell them after the marriage.

After the victim’s family complained to the police, a case was opened and the victim was taken into custody.

The victim’s family head, Muhammad Ramzan, revealed specifics of the fraudulent plan, saying that Nargis had pretended to be Shaaban and struck up a conversation with him pretending to be a lad. Once married, the daughter obtained a visa and was flown to France via Dubai; however, the family did not find out until much later that the purported son-in-law was actually a girl.

Ramzan claims that the daughter was subjected to attempts at sales at different places and that she was tortured by the criminal gang. The family eventually succeeded in moving their daughter to a secure location in France.

When Nargis returned to AJK in pursuit of her next victim, the victim’s family recognized her and reported her to the police, which resulted in her apprehension.
