“Channel 13 (TV),” an exclusive Taylor Swift radio channel, has been announced by SiriusXM
The title of the new radio station that will be devoted entirely to Taylor Swift couldn’t be more appropriate.
After SiriusXM revealed the launch of “Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version),” Swifties will now be able to enjoy their favorite Taylor Swift songs on the radio all day, every day.
“We’ve been listening to your requests for a Taylor Swift channel over the years, and we hope to fulfill them!” On Tuesday, April 2, the broadcasting service made an announcement on X (formerly Twitter).
Given that Taylor loves the number 13 and views it as her lucky number, the title “Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version)” is a fitting homage to the global pop phenomenon.
She clarified to MTV News in 2009 that she was born on the thirteenth. Friday the 13th was my 13th birthday. In 13 weeks, my debut album became a gold record. The beginning to my first No. 1 song lasted for 13 seconds. I’ve sat in the thirteenth seat, thirteenth row, thirteenth section, or thirteenth letter—row M—every time I’ve received an award. Basically, it’s a positive thing whenever a 13 appears in my life.
However, Swift herself would be proud of another Easter Egg in the channel’s debut.
Starting on Sunday, April 7, 2024, the channel will be accessible until May 6.
As SiriusXM put it, “Taylor Swift’s new album, The Tortured Poets Department, is out on Friday, April 19, the 13th day of the channel.”
The album will thereafter be played on the channel nonstop over the weekend of its release.
Over the years you’ve asked us for a Taylor Swift channel, and trust us, we’ve been listening! For a limited time, hear Channel 13 (Taylor’s Version) starting Sunday, April 7.
