iPhone 15 Launch Creates Excitement at Apple's Flagship Shanghai Store

On First Day of In-Store Availability, Apple’s Flagship Shanghai Store Sees Over a Hundred Customers Eager to Get Their Hands on iPhone 15″

The performance of Apple’s latest iPhone in China has garnered significant attention from fans and market observers. This comes in the wake of increased restrictions on iPhone use by government employees and the introduction of a high-end competitor from Chinese manufacturer Huawei, raising concerns about demand in its third-largest market.

However, the strong pre-order numbers in the world’s second-largest economy, which commenced the previous Friday, have alleviated some of these worries. Delivery times have been pushed into November, and the premium iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models sold out in just one minute on Alibaba’s Tmall e-commerce platform.

Local media reported that the queue at the Shanghai store, located on East Nanjing Road shopping belt, began forming as early as 5 a.m. (1000 GMT).

Among the customers at the store was 25-year-old social media influencer Zhang Ming, who expressed her interest in trying out the iPhone 15 after failing to secure a pre-order online. She mentioned her preference for Apple products primarily based on their color.

The iPhone 15 boasts several enhancements, including a new titanium shell, a faster chip, and improved gaming capabilities. Notably, Apple did not increase prices, which stands out in the context of the global smartphone market slowdown.

However, some customers at the store voiced disappointment over the lack of significant upgrades compared to the previous model. Wang Puyu, a 29-year-old real estate worker, explained that he was only upgrading because he had promised to give his iPhone 14 to his nephew, and he expressed relative dissatisfaction with this year’s offering.
