Turbat, Balochistan – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI(M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Turbat, Balochistan, to review the security situation, assess ongoing development initiatives, and strengthen coordination between military and civil authorities for the province’s stability and progress.
The visit saw the presence of the Chief Minister and Chief Secretary of Balochistan, along with other senior officials. During his visit, the COAS received a detailed briefing on security dynamics, ongoing operations against Fitna al Hindustan, and various development projects aimed at improving socio-economic conditions in southern Balochistan.
While interacting with the Chief Minister and civil administration representatives, Field Marshal Munir stressed the importance of good governance, infrastructure development, and inclusive, people-focused progress. He highlighted the need for joint civil-military efforts to overcome challenges and assured continued support for initiatives aimed at enhancing the region’s socio-economic development.

In a separate statement, the COAS dismissed speculation regarding any change in military leadership, calling such rumors “baseless and malicious.” Speaking in Brussels, he said those spreading such claims were opponents of both the government and state institutions.
“God has made me the protector of this country. Beyond this responsibility, I have no desire for any other position,” he emphasized.
Field Marshal Munir also touched on Pakistan’s foreign policy, noting the country’s long-standing balance in relations with China and the United States. “We will not sacrifice one friend for another,” he said. He also praised US President Donald Trump’s efforts for peace, describing them as genuine, and noted that Pakistan was the first country to support his nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize, a step later followed by others.
