Body Found in Tesla Registered to Singer D4vd Identified as Missing Teen
Authorities in Los Angeles have identified the body discovered in a Tesla registered to rising music star David Anthony Burke, 20, better known by his stage name D4vd. Police confirmed the remains belong to 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, who was reported missing earlier this month from Lake Elsinore, California.
According to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, Rivas’ date of death has been listed as September 8. However, the cause of death remains under investigation, with officials noting it has been deferred pending further results.
“At this time, investigators do not have a classification from the coroner as to the mode or manner of death,” a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said. “We do not have any suspect information at this time.”
The case came to light last week when officers responded to reports of a foul odor coming from an impounded vehicle on the 1000 block of North Mansfield Avenue. Upon inspection, officers discovered human remains in a bag inside the front trunk of a Tesla registered to Burke.
The vehicle, though registered to the New York-born “Romantic Homicide” singer, had been impounded at the Los Angeles property for several days before the discovery was made.
Police have not connected Burke to the case, and the investigation into Rivas’ death is ongoing.
