Emily Blunt Returns to ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel Amid Filming Buzz in New York
Fresh off her role in Benny Safdie’s sports biopic The Smashing Machine, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as MMA legend Mark Kerr, Emily Blunt is back on set for the highly anticipated The Devil Wears Prada sequel. She’s reunited with Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci—who reprise their iconic roles as Andy Sachs, Miranda Priestly, and art director Nigel Kipling—filming scenes on the streets of New York.
Blunt, however, has hinted that the experience isn’t all glitz and glamour. Speaking at the Toronto Film Festival, she likened the shoot to “being in a zoo,” adding with a smile, “We feel a little bit like zoo exhibits. But that’s OK. People are excited.”
Despite her candid remarks, Blunt remained tight-lipped about the plot, stating simply, “I can tell you nothing.”
The sequel boasts an ensemble cast, including Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Pauline Chalamet, Justin Theroux, Tracie Thomas, Tibor Ravitz, Simone Ashley, Rachel Bloom, B.J. Novak, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Conrad Ricamora, and Kenneth Branagh, alongside the returning leads.
Directed by David Frankel, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on May 1, 2026.
